Products - Books: Technical/ReferenceYachtsman?s Ten Language Dictionary by Barbara Webb and the Cruising AssociationThere is no doubt that if you make the effort to speak the local language you win goodwill and that can ease your passage through any transaction in a foreign country. Be it dealing with customs, ordering food, buying items in a chandlery; making the effort, however badly, is usually appreciated. This great little book is over 40 years old and has grown from eight to ten languages as yachtsmen have sailed to the eastern parts of the Mediterranean. The book is divided into 15 sections with emergencies the first two. Thereafter the book covers all parts of the boat, the boatyard, navigation, at sea, classic boats and general reference items. This is a very handy book. I have used it many times, particularly sailing of the beaten track in the Mediterranean where locals are truly local and private, if not wary of foreigners. Here an attempt to speak their language breaks the ice and opens the door to friendship and usually trade! Postage to UK/EU only. Please contact us for orders outside of this area. tech039 - Yachtsman?s Ten Language Dictionary by Barbara Webb and the Cruising Association - £ 17.99 Postage: £ 2.75 Back to Books: Technical/Reference >>> |
